ABOUT
Our Rural Hostel is oriented to visitors or backpackers around the world but also to Dominican people, is part of a tourism development project linked to nature tourism, about biodiversity, ecotourism, adventure tourism, agro tourism and local community development.
The project begins with the main objective to recover the activity of the former Training Center and Hosting "Simona Esmeralda Felix Alcantara" which was inaugurated in 2004 with the support of national and international visitors to Polo - Barahona, getting an extra input from coffee production.
Hostel Rural want to welcome all visitors who wish to enjoy a unique and different experience in a natural environment, to connect with the nature and want to disconnect from the big cities and who intend to approach the custom and culture of the community, located 38 km the city of Barahona, in the municipality of Polo. Also the visitors or backpackers would enjoy an economic trip of the country in search of different experiences, and seek to enjoy a tourism linked to the agrarian nature, mountains, rivers, coasts and lakes in the southwestern addresses the Dominican Republic, blending into the local culture that is wrapped in a healthy, comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
LOCATION
The Hostal is located on Calle Juan Bosch, at the bottom of Polo. Walk down the hill from the Campo Verde discoteca until the paved road makes a 90 degree left turn. Turn right onto the gravel road for about 75 meters and then turn left to continue for 70 more meters where the hostal will be on the left just past the cul-de-sac with a metal gate.
PRICES
We offer competitively priced accommodation with options to choose.
A 6-person dorm room costs 350 pesos per person. The price includes a cup of coffee in the morning and use of the facilities on the property, except the kitchen.
