YOUTH PLATFORM OF POLO
OUR STORY
We are the Plataforma Juvenil de Polo, founded on March 26, 2006. We are an organization that seeks to bring together young people of all kinds who are in agreement with the principles and objectives of the group. We were founded to integrate the youth to participate in various activities of the municipality, regardless of the color of the skin, or the social class to which they belong, for the transformation of a more just, democratic, united, progressive, and popular society that promotes participation to youth in the community.

Mission and Vision:
The youth organization called PLATFORMA JUVENIL DE POLO (PJP), is a functional organization whose purpose is to create, stimulate, promote, coordinate and disseminate any initiative that leads to promote the participation and development of youth in the municipality of Polo.

UNDISCOVERED PEARL OF THE SOUTH
Polo, known for its fine coffee production, crystalline spas, green and tall mountains, is an ideal destination when you are looking to escape from the city. The climate is cool and extremely pleasant, surrounded by green mountains and several villages in its surroundings.

Polo was founded in the last decades of the 19th century, by people from the municipalities and provinces such as: Cabral, Salinas, Naranjo, Cristóbal, Enriquillo, Neiva, San Juan, Barahona, etc. These people, who were looking for wild animals, penetrated to this zone and when seeing the fertility of the lands they decided to make farm land and settle down definitively in this area.
The growth of Polo began in the first half of the twentieth century when coffee began to take its commercial peak, this being the main agricultural and economic pulse of Polo, and in 1896 Polo was declared an agricultural area.
