ADVENTURES

El Polo Magnetico or, Magnetic Pole which is quite enigmatic, is located about 8 kilometers before the community. There is a point on the road, where the drivers of vehicles stop, turn off their engine and with astonishment their occupants and drivers observe as their vehicle slides uphill without effort and to everyone's surprise. This phenomenon attracts thousands of tourists every year who insist on repeating the act without finally understanding what has been happening. Some people think that it is not a magnetic attraction but an optical illusion, however; the fact is that the fact puzzles.

In addition, the area has beautiful rivers such as the famous "Mata de Maiz" which is more than just a hidden treasure. It is noteworthy that there are more than 15 reservoirs of rivers, streams and a diversification of waterfalls that are born on the banks of the mountains. On the way you will find the part of the river called "Mata de Rulo", a cascade of water coming from the mountain side where it gives the impression that it is always raining.

FESTICAFE

Free to enter!
One of the main ecotourism offers offered by this beautiful village is the "Organic Coffee Festival" which is a celebration of the harvest, held in the community of Polo, Barahona, since 2003. In this great popular festival, coffee growers, artists, institutions, companies, and the public in general share through various activities, such as: exhibitions, workshops, fairs, conferences, tastings, ecotourism excursions and artistic and cultural presentations. The "Celebrating the Harvest" Festival is a national benchmark, which has promoted year-round exchange among coffee growers' cooperatives in different regions of the country, and the start of a new cooperative model, which brings together hundreds of producers.
